A few of you have written in with very good suggestions such as showing which of your friends are online or what achievements a player has unlocked. Great ideas, and ones I'd love to implement, but unfortunately I don't have access to that data. Anything that is strictly tied to the Xbox Live service, like achievements or friends lists, is inaccessible as Microsoft does not have a publicly available API for querying that data.
Your Halo 3 stats are kept by Bungie and published online for all to see without needing to log in. The Xbox Live data... not so much.
So, if Microsoft opens up access to their data I will gladly implement some more features based on that data, but until then we'll just have to do without.
